The Lighting category covers in-wall dimmers, switches and keypads that security and home automation dealers add to a system when the customer wants lighting on the same job as alarm and access work. The line splits into two groups. The first is the remote companions: a remote dimmer (LUTRD-RD-WH) and a remote switch (LUTRD-RS-WH). The second is the main load controls: multi-location dimmers rated 1000W (LUTRRD-10D-WH) and 600W (LUTRRD-6D-WH) for incandescent, magnetic low-voltage and halogen loads, a 600W dimmer for CFL and LED loads (LUTRRD-6CL-WH), and a 450W dimmer and keypad combo for incandescent, MLV and halogen loads (LUTRRD-H6BRL-WH).

Choosing a dimmer by load type

Match the control to the load before you order. The incandescent, MLV and halogen dimmers are listed by wattage, so total the fixtures on the circuit and pick the rating that covers them. Where the fixtures are CFL or LED, use the CFL/LED dimmer instead. Installers who want a keypad at the same location as the dimmer can use the dimmer and keypad combo.
